The Nike SB Dunk Low has been on a rollercoaster ride of popularity since its arrival almost 20 years ago. Initially well received, the style fell out of favour around a decade ago with sneakerheads losing interest after continual missteps by the Nike SB design team.

But after reconnecting with its early roots, the SB Dunk Low gradually reclaimed its spot among the most popular and well-received silhouettes on the market and today almost every new release is met with widespread anticipation. Next year will be no different, with a plethora of incredible collaborations, re-releases and new styles set to land, so to keep you in the loop with some of the ones to watch out for, here’s our top 3 upcoming Nike Dunk SB Lows.

Chines New Year-Inspired Iteration

Next year the Nike SB Dunk Low looks to go from strength to strength… quite literally. That’s because 2021 marks the Chinese Year of the Ox – an animal famed for its sturdiness and muscle-bound power – and Nike will look to honour the celebrations with a brand-new colourway for the iconic silhouette.

Last year the sportwear behemoth celebrating the Year of the Rat with some standout colourways for the Kyrie 6, Air Force 1 and Air Max and it appears they’re feeling festive once again with a funky update to the SB Dunk Low in the works.

Featuring the same colour and pattern blocking seen on the Air Jordan 5 “What The” iteration, this is set to be another attention-grabbing colourway that spans practically the entire colour spectrum in one swoop.  Made from a mix of materials including leather, canvas and suede, the uppers feature a range of features including watercolour patterns, embossed panelling and a gold, leather finish on the front portion of the shoe.

Nike SB Dunk Low “58”

Another eye-pleasing SB Dunk design set to land early next year is the “58” which comes dressed in a glorious blue/chill and safety orange colour combo. With a puffy tongue, black laces and the traditional white Swoosh, this latest iteration has kept things familiar and is sure to please fans of the skateboard-friendly style who prefer their colourways to be loud.

The style is expected to hit the shelves in January or Feb, although with such a summery colour scheme and uppers constructed primarily from suede, this might not be the best choice for winter, although you can always hide them away at the back of the wardrobe until the sun starts to make an appearance in a few months’ time!

Nike SB Dunk Low “atmos Elephant”

If you’re a fan of the Air Max 1 “Atmos Elephant” – and many sneakerheads evidently are as it’s currently commanding around  £800 on the resale market – then boy are you in for a treat as the Nike SB Dunk Low is about to receive the same treatment. After being teased for around a year, the wait is finally over as Nike team up with renowned boutique atmos for another colourway featuring the iconic Elephant print, this time for the SB Dunk Low.

The style comes adorned with the same elephant-inspired white and grey overlays seen before, but this time it’s combined with white leather uppers and lack suede panelling to give the SB Dunk Low a truly new look that’s set to go down a storm within the sneaker community. This style will be released on November 11 but be quick or prepare for disappointment as this is one release that’s set to sell out fast!
