Nothing says Christmas quite like the rich hue of Pine Green. One of Nike’s favourite hues, the Swoosh brand has a whole arsenal of sneakers dressed in coveted Pine Green, from the famous Air Jordan 3 to the retro Air Max 1. Here, we take a closer look at some of the world’s favourite Christmassy green sneakers.

Air Jordan 3 Pine Green

Way back in 1987, Michael Jordan’s contract was coming to an end at Nike – and he wasn’t all too keen on renewing it. Enter: Nike legend Tinker Hatfield. Hatfield worked tirelessly to create an all-new Jordan sneaker that would be so good, MJ would renew his contract and the Jordan Brand legacy would continue. Ultimately, the silhouette went on to be the sneaker Michael Jordan wore throughout the 1987-1988 NBA season, helping him score 40 points, eight rebounds, three assists, four steals and four blocks in the season’s All-Star game.

The “Pine Green” iteration, which landed in 2021, nods to the OG design with its black upper, elephant print and visible Air unit in the sole, while hits of the crowd-favourite green hue elevate it to new-school status.

Off-White x Nike Dunk Low Pine Green

Landing in 2019, the Off-White x Nike Dunk Low Pine Green remains to this day one of the most in-demand silhouettes to come out of Virgil Abloh’s partnership with the Swoosh brand. Staying true to the basketball shoe’s original design, but adding some new-school flair, bright orange cables are added to give that instantly recognisable Off-White look. Of course, Nike’s Swoosh sits in its usual place on the sidewalls, and a subtle orange tab hangs from the Swoosh for a touch more playfulness from Abloh.

Nike Air Max 1 x Powerwall Pine Green

Also known as the Nike Air max 1 ‘Limeade’, the Nike Air Max 1 x Powerwall Pine Green initially landed in 2006 and became an instant must-have for collectors and sneaker fans alike. Dressed in Pine Green leather and mesh, a retro Nike Air logo motif adorns the sidewalls making it one of the silhouette’s most eye-catching designs. To perfectly complement the green hue, light yellow laces are added and the same lemonade hue can be found on the tongue. A festive pair that you’ll be able to wear year-round, the AM1 Limeade is a non-negotiable must-have pair.

Air Jordan 1 Retro Pine Green

Arguably the industry’s most iconic silhouette, the Air Jordan 1 is a sneaker that defined a generation. Originally landing in 1985, the Air Jordan 1 marked the origin of the most successful brand partnership to date, with the shoe still selling out over 30 years down the line. Nodding to the OG design, the Air Jordan 1 Retro Pine Green comes in luxe tumbled leather with both Nike and Jordan branding stealing the show. The shoe’s green hue is perfectly offset with jet-black panels, effortlessly delivering a premium look that’ll ensure you save these kicks for special occasions.
