Halloween
Now we’re firmly in September and Halloween is only around the corner! Celebrate the spooky season in style with the Jordan 1 Retro High “Shattered Backboard”. These iconic sneakers are inspired by the orange and black uniform sported by MJ and the rest of the Chicago Bulls during his infamous exhibition game in Italy in 1985 in which he accidentally shattered the hoop’s backboard scoring a dunk. The Shattered Backboard AJ1s feature an all-black design with bright orange highlights, perfect for trick-or-treating!
Thanksgiving
Nestled neatly between Halloween and Christmas is Thanksgiving, an important celebration for US sneakerheads! For Thanksgiving we’re serving a custom-made, one-of-a-kind pair of sneakers worn by NBA superstar Edrice “Bam” Adebayo during his match the night before Thanksgiving, 2018. These custom Air Jordan 13 Lows come emblazoned with a large cartoon turkey on the right shoe, and a similarly-drawn avatar of Bam himself completing a dunk on the left. The rest of the sneaker takes on reddish, meaty tones and features his nickname BAM next to his image.
Christmas
Almost as soon as Thanksgiving is over, you’ll find yourself setting up the Christmas tree! Christmas is celebrated in many countries around the world and is often marked with bright lights, green trees, and white snow! DeJesus Customs designed a unique pair of sneakers just for the festive season! The Air Jordan V Mids “Ugly Christmas Sweater” were invented in response to the Nike SB Dunk High colourway of the same name. These all-out-festive sneakers showcase snowflakes, snowmen, boughs of holly, hyacinths, and, of course, the Christmas tree itself! All of these classic Christmas images are set on a pale blue background with red highlights, truly a bonanza of Christmas spirit!
Valentine’s Day
Moving away from custom designs now back to those commercially-available sneakers! The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Valentine’s Day” deliver exactly what you’d expect – the red and pink tones we associate with love and romance. This reimagining of the classic silhouette comes with deep red base with light pink highlights, a pearlescent swoosh with a iridescent shimmer, and a red heart near the heel. The classic Air Jordan’s logo is also in red and, if you look closely, you can spot a near-invisible dunk logo embroidered in the same shade of pink as the backdrop!
