After years of rumours concerning its return, the Air Jordan 5 ‘Raging Bull’ (Red Suede) is finally set to make its long-awaited comeback.

Jordan Brand has taken us on something of a nostalgia trip this year, delving into past styles with the release of the “What The” and “Oregon” pairs, and it appears 2021’s plans are set to follow suit with the incredibly popular “Raging Bull” colourway ready to hit the shelves once again next April.

After its release back in 2009, the style was something of a mainstay in sneaker outlets across the world. However, since then, the now-exclusive colourway has become red hot property, fetching a sizeable fee on the resale market with some avid sneakerheads willing to splash out up to £750 to get their hands on a pair.

Next year’s release is likely to follow the same design as the original, with a few upgrades to both the quality and the aesthetic. The 2009 version sees the famous Air Jordan 5 silhouette adorned with red suede uppers, translucent mesh cages and black eye stays, linings and midsole, which is mated to a gum-coloured see-through outsole. Rounding off the style is a silver tongue featuring the iconic Jumpman logo and the number 23 embroidered into the heel portion of the shoe, a nod to the famous jersey worn by the brand’s namesake, Michael Jordan.

The news will no doubt come as a blow to resellers who were holding out for a hefty sum, but for sneakerheads desperate to add the crimson red colourway to their collection, patience is a virtue as hanging on for just a few more months could see you nab a pair for a fraction of the cost, with the retail price set at around £145.

If you’re unwilling to wait that long, you can pick up a pair on the resale market but prepare for some eye-watering prices. The cheapest you’ll find on StockX at the moment are priced at £583, although their value is likely to decrease following the announcement of the re-release.

The Air Jordan 5 “Raging Bull” (Red Suede) is set to drop with select retailers including Nike.com on April 10th 2021. For more buy and sell options on Air Jordan trainers or other exclusive brands, head over to our resale market now.
