Despite working on a new album, moving home and tending to the small matter of a presidential campaign, Kanye West has still managed to find time for his Yeezy collections, with a few brand new releases set to drop just in time for the Fall 2020 season.

Yeezy Boost v2 “Israfil” – release date: August 22

First up is the Yeezy Boost v2 “Israfil”, which pays homage to the Islamic archangel of music. Featuring a mottled blueish grey and sandy yellow Primeknit upper, a pale-yellow side stripe and a semi-translucent grey midsole mated to a gum rubber sole, the design isn’t too dissimilar to some of its most recent predecessors, with a fresh take that makes the design more suitable for the cooler months.

The “Israfil” is also the first Yeezy to feature Ye’s brand new bungee lacing system, although you can also opt for the traditional laces if you prefer.

Yeezy 700 v3 “Arzareth” – release date: August 29

Also set to drop this month is the much-anticipated Yeezy 700 v3 “Arzareth”, which has been in the works for quite some time. As eye-catching as you’d expect from any Yeezy 700 silhouette, the design features a Primeknit upper with blue hues beneath an ice blue, glow-in-the-dark rubber cage that makes a bold statement. With a black lacing system and white foam midsole rounding off the colour scheme, this is one look that’s guaranteed to turn heads.

Yeezy Boost v2 “Asriel” – release date: September 2020

Last up on the list and set to drop in late September is the Yeezy Boost v2 “Asriel” which provides an all-black makeover for the much-loved silhouette. Sporting a black and grey Primeknit upper, matching tonal laces and a jet-black side stripe that adorns the lateral, the colour scheme contrasts beautifully with the gum-coloured translucent midsole to create the perfect look for Autumn and Winter.

The release of the “Israfil” and the upcoming “Asriel” has caused a lot of friction within the Muslim community, with some followers of Islam angry at the decision to name footwear designs after two of the religion’s angels. With the colourways causing so much controversy, this could have an impact on the resale value of these styles further down the road, so if you’re looking to buy or sell a pair just be sure to bear that in mind.
