We’ve learned to expect the unexpected when it comes to all the latest and most exclusive releases from Ye and his team, and the Yeezy Foam RNNR “MXCRCL” colourway is just one example why. Although mock-ups surfaced earlier in the year, the design was all but a rumour until Kim K herself confirmed the colourway in a teaser video posted on Instagram just a few days ago. First impressions of the colourway are rather questionable, however the design is certainly unique in its own right.
It works with a clean cream base that is adorned with earthy brown accents across the lateral and medial of the sneaker that provides a unique aesthetic that is certain to tick the boxes of many sneakerheads. The iteration also offers ultimate breathability thanks to the addition of perforations in all shapes and sizes throughout, with larger and more dominant ovals on the heel that remind us distinctly of the Yeezy 700.
Whilst the Yeezy Foam RNNR “MXCRCL” colourway isn’t going to be on everyone’s wish-list come release day, it’s hard to deny the steps that Ye and his team are taking in order to make footwear eco-friendly. In fact, you might even argue Yeezy is paving the way for other brands to do the same! After all, the silhouette opts for an algae infused foam, sourced sustainably from their Wyoming HQ, rather than resorting to the well-known EVA foam base that the team at Adidas are so familiar with.
