Adidas’ new women’s collection of specialised sportswear and performance trainers look to set the pace with their first collaboration: W.W.

The German outfitters will be teaming up with four diverse global partners to produce the new ‘Run City Pack’. First on the collaborative list is Danish fashion and lifestyle brand Wood Wood. ‘Universal Works.’ ‘Neighborhood’ and ‘Monocle’ collabs are set to follow – but more on those later.

Right now, we’re here to talk about Wood Wood. Scandinavia has established itself as part of western fashion since the first Vikings showed us how stylish reaving could truly be. Today’s styles are a little less skins and sadness and a little more quality and environmentally friendly practices.

Fjallraven bags dangle from shoulders from Stockholm to Shanghai; Our Legacy produce seasonal and timeless classics; and Norse Projects have proved that even in the frozen wilds you can produce territory defining looks that transcend location. Scandinavian style has such a strong recipe that it was inevitable that the trainer world was soon to get a taste.

‘Get lost’ is the tagline for the new adidas by Wood Wood ‘Run City Pack’; a collection of knitted women’s running gear set to encourage more women to get out there and ‘Get Lost’, both literally and figuratively, mentally and physically.

Wood Wood want runners to focus on what they think is the most important aspect of running – your state of mind. To do this they have created running gear that helps you feel true escape by implementing adidas’ high end tech helping your body move completely freely. The apparel, footwear and accessories are all made with adidas’ Primeknit and Climaproof tech to provide the balance of protection and breathable freedom that adidas kit has become known for.

The Ultraboost 19

The most exciting part of the new W.W collection, for us, is the new look Ultraboost 19 colourways, produced with a distinct Scandinavian feel. The Ultraboost has always been one of the most functional running shoes on the market. Which is probably what made them first choice for Wood Wood’s overhaul with Karl Oskar Olsen, co-founder of the brand saying, “Running is an everyday thing now, so naturally it’s also become a part of the way people express their identity”.  The tech from adidas is there so you can set your pace, the design from Wood Wood helps you define your presence.

For the collection, The Ultraboost has received two new colourways, representative of popular running terrains: a cream based, desert design and an olive-green look. A translucent lace cage has been added with joint brand sides representing both adidas and Wood Wood. Speckled laces complete the new aesthetic.
