Ultimate Size guide
For anyone’s money, Yeezys aren’t cheap. In a lot of cases, they aren’t exactly a walk in the park to get hold of either. So naturally, when you find yourself with A) the money and B) the opportunity to purchase a pair you want to be 100% certain on one key factor. How do Yeezys fit? You might think this is an easy question to answer. After all, we all know our shoe size, or at least are in the right area. With a pair of Yeezys, however, it isn’t that simple. So at Laced what we have compiled is hopefully, the ultimate size guide to the most popular Yeezys on the market.
How do Yeezys fit? – Yeezy 350
Let’s start with the most widely worn silhouette from the Yeezy catalogue, the Yeezy Boost 350. The short answer to the question of how do Yeezy Boost 350 fit is essentially, they fit small. To be more specific, half a size small in comparison to your standard size. This is different from other Adidas shoes which generally are true to size fits. So to make things pretty simple for you. If you buy a Yeezy Boost 350 true to size your toe is going to be at the end of the shoe.
Although not the be all and end all in terms of jeopardising comfort due to the flexibility of the shoes Primeknit upper. Visually you will be able to notice your toe pushing on the toebox. This will slightly affect the shape of that part of the model. To avoid this, I would recommend going just a half a size up. That way preventing that issue but not so much so that your foot moves around.
Yeezy 500 size guide
On the outside, I don’t think you would be labelled stupid for assuming that the Yeezy 500 fits big. After all, it is one of the most successful proprietors of the ‘Dad Shoe’ trend. Which is built on a very clear framework of chunky aesthetics. However logical you think that to be as a theory, ultimately, it is wrong.
You might be surprised when I tell you that the Yeezy 500 actually, and very similarly to the 350, comes up about half a size small. Also, much like the 350, you could definitely get away wearing a pair true to size. However, unlike the 350, you will most definitely feel a significant drop off in comfort levels. This is mainly due to the toebox on the 500 being a lot firmer. Meaning it doesn’t give to your toe quite as much. The toe box on the 500 is notably wider. however, but it still comes up shorter than most other Adidas shoes.
Yeezy 700 size guide
The Yeezy Boost 350 & Yeezy 500 are relatively simple to define in size terms. As across the board they follow the same general rules, but when we get to the Yeezy 700 which is Kanye Wests newest and arguably best silhouette things aren’t as uniform. The general consensus is that the shoe is incredibly comfortable so honestly, you can go true to size if you wanted to, and you would experience little to no issues as long as you aren’t too worried about a snug but not overly tight fit. However, if you prefer a slightly less restricting fit then just like the two previous silhouettes we spoke about, I’d suggest going half a size up, but wait! That doesn’t tell the whole story…
The Yeezy 700 has seen three sets of design changes meaning that they fit slightly differently. The OG Yeezy 700, the Wave Runner, fits snug because of the narrow toe box, while the second iteration of the 700 which features the Mauve, Inertia and Analog colourways comes with added padding and elastic that holds the tongue in place making the shoe naturally tighter and therefore, for both of these versions I would recommend the half size up.
How do Yeezy 700v2 fit?
Whereas with the Yeezy 700 v2 – which is the third and newest iteration of the silhouette – the end result is notably more comfortable, with most of the added padding from the second version being removed and the upper’s construction being changed to Primeknit, this all allows for extra room at the toe box. That space is invaluable in creating a truer to size fit, and the v2 also features an Ortholite insole and a cloth underlining so now you are directly walking on the boost meaning that I would personally recommend wearing your standard size in the v2 models.
