In a black suede dojo style shirt and black leather, adidas popper-esque joggers, outer lined in cream, Kanye West turned up for Sunday Service in Paris. On his feet – the brand new Yeezy 451 prototype.

Sunday’s runway event by Kanye for his Yeezy Season 8 fashion show was the first event of its kind since 2018 for Ye. With the Kardashians in tow, Kanye hopped the puddles of Paris to make it to his similarly rain soaked catwalk. Sneaker fans were less interested in the catwalk models. The hype had already started that we would soon be getting a release for the 451.

The Yeezy 451 rumours have been hanging around like a dark cloud for years without dropping us any information. Rough sketches were first teased back in July 2018, but since then the hype has blown over.

Kanye West’s Sunday Service has become a regular occurrence for fans and the surprise turnout at the Bouffes du Nord theatre provided the perfect platform for the entertainer to build some hype for his new Yeezy look.

If you thought the 700 MNVN was a futuristic style, then the 451 is heading for another dimension. A mesh upper is nothing new but this time the soleplate becomes an integral part of the upper’s design with a sawtooth aesthetic that climbs the shoe.

Ye’s choice of baggy leather joggers means we haven’t had a clear look at the full design yet, and we are still in the dark about what tech adidas are throwing into the 451. We do know that the 451 is moving away from the Primeknit runner and chunky dad-shoe aesthetic with the new silo leaning more towards a hiking shoe upper, made with a minimalist approach and a fully moulded midsole – being worked on by designer Steven Smith – that will wrap the mesh based upper.

Predictions are already abounding for which colourways fans can expect on the opening pack; “White/Blue”, “Volt Green/Black” and “Fuchsia/Black” are topping the agenda so far.

Tell us which colourway you’re hoping the 451 will drop in. And check in with Laced for more information on the new Yeezy 451. We will let you know when release dates are made available for the new look via our online trainer’s link here.
