Stepping onto the court

NBA Opening night is just around the corner, with two marquee matchups set to kick off the 2019-20 Season. Featuring the Pelicans, Raptors, Lakers and Clippers, Tuesday, October 22 is going to be jam-packed with superstars. No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson will be making his much anticipated regular-season debut. Against the defending champs in the early game. While the Clippers’ new dynamic duo of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard will challenge Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the battle for Los Angeles. So much star power naturally comes with an equally impressive list of endorsements that follow. More specifically a statement-making array of court shoes ready to brace the paint.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Toronto Raptors

As previously stated the early matchup on NBA Opening night between the New Orleans Pelicans and Toronto Raptors welcomes Zion Williamson into the NBA. The No.1 overall pick and the latest Air Jordan endorsed prodigy. The rookie recently launched his first signature, the Air Jordan 34 in Harlem, and we expect him to be donning his new model come gameday. Delivering a distinctly Jordan perspective on providing the best basketball shoe for the sport’s future stars. The Air Jordan XXXIV strips away non-essential material from the tooling and upper to leave athletes only what they need. Providing game-changing innovation with the introduction of the Jordan Eclipse Plate. Formed by two Pebax pieces and a forefoot Zoom Air unit, both helping to provide optimal explosion off the foot.

Los Angeles Lakers vs LA Clippers

Perhaps the more star-studded matchup on NBA Opening night is the battle of Los Angeles between the Lakers and the Clippers. With a lot more to note in terms of big-time court shoes bracing the paint. Both the Lakers and Clippers have made superstar acquisitions this offseason and as is the way with NBA players. They are looking to make a statement both with and without the ball. Notably with new signings Anthony Davis for the Lakers and Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for the Clippers looking to impress.

Kawhi Leonard is expected to rep his New Balance signatures. Which he has favoured since his signing with the brand back in November 2018. While new teammate Paul George is likely to be wearing one variation of his popular signature line with Nike. The Nike PG 3 is a common selection for a lot of NBA players and has also been adopted previously by the Duke Blue Devils. Known all too well for injuring Zion Williamson in a match against UNC.

On the opposing side of the court, LeBron James is no stranger to popular signature court shoes. On NBA Opening night it is expected that he too will be repping a PE variation of his Nike LeBron 16.
