Just where would Nike be without its trademark Swoosh? Undoubtedly known as the biggest sportswear manufacturer on the planet, Nike sells over 700 million pairs of shoes each and every year, so no matter where in the world you are, your chances of spotting the brand’s iconic logo are high.

2021 marks 50 years since Nike co-founder, Phil Knight, commissioned a young and up-and-coming graphic designer to draw up the now-infamous logo, and in recognition of the half-century milestone Nike is now launching a selection of brand-new looks that pay homage to the Swoosh.

Following the Blazer Mid ’77 that was recently teased, a mismatched Blazer Low that utilizes the same concept has now emerged. Celebrating the origin of the Swoosh, the forthcoming makeup nods to the logo’s creation, with early versions present on the medial and lateral, while retro branding on the sneaker’s heel makes for a double dose of nostalgia.

The uppers consist mainly of a grey leather, with suede panels on the toe and lateral adding some additional texture and putting the finishing touches on a slick, new look.

The upcoming Blazer is expected to go on general release, so with a large quantity of stock scheduled to arrive, you should have little trouble getting your hands on a pair when they eventually drop. With that said, occasionally Nike only produces limited numbers of these commemorative releases so try to be fast to avoid disappointment.

Right now, an official release date is unknown, but if history can teach us anything it’s to expect a release around June 18th; for that was the date the Swoosh first appeared all those years ago.
