Translated for winter-weather

The latest Nike Gore Tex capsule set to drop this Autumn is very much built to withstand the winter months. Technologically advanced with aesthetic hints of the militaristic. Gore-Tex that was created by a father-and-son duo has exceeded even their own expectations by evolving into a mainstay of the streetwear world. Primarily down to their proprietary fabric membrane. One that has remained in demand since its inception over fifty years ago. That has now been adopted by one of Nike’s most legendary silhouettes, the Nike Air Force 1.

The wonderous Gore-Tex material has been adapted by a seemingly never-ending list of outwear brands for jackets, bags and the like. Marvelled for its waterproof protective qualities. Something Nike have been keen to apply to some of their silhouettes to translate them for winter-weather. Said to be arriving as an extension of the “The 10th” Series by Nike. That has included a number of designs intended to pay homage to the iconic Bill Bowerman and the heroics of his decorated career.

What to expect from the collaboration?

Although there isn’t an official release date set for this capsule. It is expected to drop in stages throughout October through until December. The first of which an Air Force 1 High reforms past considerations (including AF1 Duck Boot tooling) and adds a new twist with a customisable, zippered bootie. This allows for multiple styling options, as well as a rugged aesthetic. While the Air Force 1 Low version keeps things classic, layering ballistic nylon and full-grain leather over a Nike Gore Tex lining. Arriving in a series of colours ranging from Hazard Yellow, Carbon, White, Medium Olive, Gold and Orange.
