Fans of Nike’s skate range will be going on a wild ride with the new “Safari” look that aims to throw down the gauntlet and do battle with the Travis Scott Dunk that proved such a huge hit already in 2020. The “Safari” has a great history and is the perfect look to grace the SB Dunk base with its low profile and chunky overlay features.

Having a major rapper work on your designs is a great way to get fans invested in new releases. But we should never underestimate the other brilliant designs from the minds over at Nike that carry on behind the scenes.

Nike’s SB Dunk have already had one of the standout starts to the year with the release of the Strangelove Pink look and the Purple Plum design. This time Nike are turning to animal print and bold colouring to help kick off the Spring with a wild aesthetic that may not be for everyone, but for some it will be everything.

The safari colourway is built upon a dark burnt orange base with overlays of animalistic leather all tied together with a sleek black lace system and tongue. The Swooshes are a real standout with their mismatched colouring – one orange, one green – making the trainer a complete standout performer.

The Dunk throws in some serious material mixes with canvas toebox, suede underlays and premium leather panelling. The look is finished off with a cream midsole and gum outsole to truly represent the Safari-esque feel.

We expect the “Safari” to go the same way as the Strangelove and Plum and sell out instantly so make sure you get onto the raffle lists as soon as possible. If you are unlucky on release day, which unfortunately we expect a lot of fans to be, head over to the online trainer’s resale market at Laced.

Release date is March 14 and pairs of the Nike SB Dunk Safari will be dropping for $100 (£80).
