Fans of past Air Jordan releases were treated to a pleasant surprise today as some of the brand’s most popular Retro styles were given a welcome restock.
Just last week Jordan Brand surprised fans by re-releasing a number of popular styles, including the highly sought-after Off White X Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 1 “Light Smoke Grey”, along with many others.
And today, hot on the heels of last week’s unexpected arrivals, Nike decided to go one better by dropping a whole host of past styles, among them some incredibly popular designs that have had fans of the Jordan make-ups crying out for a restock for years.
One such look is the Air Jordan 12 “University Gold”, a black and yellow colour-blocking style that’s proven to be an incredibly popular colourway for this signature silhouette. Joining it is the Air Jordan “What The”, a mismatched style with a red, white and blue colour palette that was only released around 12 months ago. The popularity of the look had Air Jordan 4 lovers demanding a re-stock, so it appears their prayers have now been answered.
Many of the designs were fetching a sizeable fee on the resale market, so it’ll be interesting to see what impact the re-releases have on the value of these styles now. If you’re a regular sneakerhead, it should make copping a pair more affordable, although resellers might not be as pleased with the news as the value of some of their stock is likely to plummet.
