Stepping up for part two of adidas’ Run City Pack is British designer Universal Works, led by co-founder and director, David Keyte.

Universal Works provide the follow up to the women’s performance running Ultraboost 19 silos, crafted by Copenhagen designers W.W. This time, however, it is time for a British spin from David Keytes, who has become a mainstay of minimal, workwear inspired trends, to see what he can do with the famous running silo.

This is another first-time collaboration for the Run City Pack. Keyte’s modus operandum of less flash more function has boosted his popularity on the menswear circuit and looks set to work wonders on this functional collection of running gear for the German brand.

UB19 Weiss-Schwarz & Chalk White

Universal works have gone in a similar direction for their two Ultraboost 19 silos, preferring a white and a sandy beach colourway. The designs blend Keyte’s aesthetic clash of streetwear and sportswear whilst bouncing around themes of modern British culture. This time design meets Keyte’s love for running, especially running on the streets of Britain – a whole new subsect of modern culture that blends functional running gear with trendy apparel that doesn’t look out of place in the coffee shops of London.

It is apt that the release of the two new colourways from Universal Works falls in Autumn as both have received new autumnal themed colourways; one in light tan and the other in a clean cream design.

Obviously, these new runners are built for hard city pavements, so the Primeknit 360 returns to provide that comfortable sock like fit that can withstand the constant pavement beating, built around the inner cage for unparalleled support.

The underfoot is a full-length Boost midsole with dual-density Boost cushioning under each arch for added energy return on harder surfaces. The fit is as personalised as the design with the lightweight 3-D heel frame and stabilising torsion spring.

The soleplate has also been given a touch up with a multicoloured, splash effect paint job that adds an extra aesthetic for when these trainers are on the move.

The new Ultraboost 19 Universal Works colourways drop alongside a collection of apparel including shorts, jackets, running tights, hats and shoulder bags.
