When is the Skepta Nike Shox TL coming out?
When Skepta dropped the video for single “Bullet From a Gun” from his new album Ignoranc is Bliss. You might have been excited, but not necessarily for footwear related reasons. Initially that is, until you saw the black and red Nike Skepta Shox TLs that Skepta is sporting during the London Underground scene. Well, the rumoured pair have now been confirmed and they are set to drop September 5th. Retailing at a reasonable £165.
What does the new model feature?
This Nike Shox TL silhouette is painted in a primarily black colourway which accentuates the dynamic line detailing of the shoe with a minimal black mesh base paired with glossy TPU side cages. Branding hits come in the form of metallic silver Swooshes and Shox branding at the tongue. Finally, the main selling point for the model comes in the way of a bright red Nike Shox sole unit and contrasting black rubber outsoles.
Could this be the revival of the Nike Shox TL
The Skepta Nike Shox TL could potentially be the high level endorsement needed to kick start the Nike Shox as a whole. Since its initial inception during the dawn of the Century it has been clear to see that Nike were sad to see the Nike Shox fade. Once upon a time, an endorsement by Vince Carter had positioned Shox technology as a potential successor to the Air Unit. Of course history tells us that it unfortunately did not last but it is evident that Nike’s use of stars like Neymar and Skepta to promote Shox in 2019 could quite possible spark a revival. After all there was nothing inherently wrong with the technology or the design. Perhaps it was just the wrong era for the Nike Shox, but only time will tell if 2019 is the right one.
