As we celebrate the fifth anniversary of the release of the OG “Beluga” colourway, Ye and his team are set to bring back a colourway that was immensely popular back on release day and remains a highly sought-after sneaker to this day – but with an intriguing new twist that we’re certainly not complaining about. As initial images surface, we’re taking a closer look at the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Beluga RF” to see what all the fuss is about.
For an uber comfortable fit, the “Beluga RF” colourway boasts a sock-like Primeknit upper for the return of familiar favourites that we’ve come to expect, and sports the original grey and orange colour palette that is comfortingly recognisable to fans of the OG “Beluga” itself. The lateral side panel is adorned with a bold stripe that features ‘SPLY-350’ text with an intention that simply cannot be argued with, and the use of rope laces tie the entire colourway together for a sophisticated finish we can’t seem to fault.
The 350 V2 is infused with adidas’ Boost technology that only adds to the comfort and the midsole has been designed with a ribbed aesthetic. Just like the original, the pull tab is nowhere to be found. Essentially, this iteration is strikingly similar to the OG from 2016, however it’s the reflective quality that puts the “Beluga RF” in a league of its own. When this sneaker comes into contact with light, the upper glistens with such perfection that you’ll be gagging for a chance to cop a pair.
A release date has yet to be announced and very little is otherwise known about the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Beluga Reflective” colourway, however if the past OG release is anything to go by then there’s no doubt that demand is going to be high. What we do know is that Ye and his team are planning to stock this bad boy during the festive season so they could be making their way onto a few Christmas wish-lists, that’s for sure.
