Fans are getting ready for the next chapter in the Travis Scott and Nike partnership. The relationship between the two has been excellent so far, like two soul mates they have been doing their best work in partnership; the Air Force Low, Air Max 720 Ispa and Dunk Low have already received Scott’s specialist treatment and all stand testament to this blossoming twosome.

Who knows, one day we might talk about Travis Scott and Nike in the way that we talk about Michael Jordan and Nike. We don’t mean to get ahead of ourselves, but the early signs are very, very promising.

For the next big upcoming release, Travis Scott has lined up his sights on the Air Max 270 React for a Cactus Jack makeover. Scott has already worked on plenty of OG classics, so now it makes sense for him to flex his design muscles on a more modern silhouette. You have to diversify if you want to make shoes that everyone wants, so this move comes at the right time.

The shoe contains a mixture of both Air Max and react tech from Nike, bringing two lines of production together for outstanding comfort and control. The colour scheme Scott has gone for is an homage to his love for vintage apparel; creamy off-whites, blacks and greys entwine through separate panels made up of a number of material choices.

Part of the Cactus Jack aesthetic has been the combination of textures, and the Air Max 270 React is no different. This time, materials include a polar fleece ream collar, charcoal leather toe panel, oxidised upper, midsole and Air Unit and custom tongue tab lace lock and an extra swoosh sits on the toe to accompany the one on the outside of the foot.

The new Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 270 React “Cactus Jack” drops May 29 in both adult and infant sizes. Head to Laced’s online trainers platform after release date for the best options on the resale market.
