Yeezys – the world-famous collaboration between rapped and fashion icon Kanye West and global sneaker brand adidas – have been delivering industry favourites and innovative designs since the pairing first launched nearly a decade ago! Kanye, known to some by the nickname ‘Ye’, first launched his sneaker range in collaboration with Nike in 2007, but swapped to their main competitor in 2013 after disagreements over royalties. Since then, adidas Yeezy sneakers have continued to define and redefine the world of sneakers.
Now winter is right around the corner Ye seems to be pushing to focus on releasing new high-top designs, which are sure to be more popular as the colder weather begins setting in! With the brand-new ‘Mist Stone’ colourway for the Yeezy 500 Highs, the brand is really bringing in the winter hues to go along with the warmer high silhouette.
The 500 High is a sturdy silhouette with the classically thick soles we’ve come to expect from Yeezy designs. This sneaker looks like it could just as easily help you climb a mountain as it could help you win a race! The patterning on the design makes great use of the curvy lines and waves we see on all iconic Yeezy sneakers, and this fits beautifully with this colourway to create a winter boot and sneaker combination that could be perfect for a huge range of events.
The Mist Stone colourway brings neutral hues on top of a pure white outsole base. The outsoles display the chunky, bulbous waves which also cut into the off-white midsoles above. Above that we see a light grey with a slight blueish tinge making up the frame of the silhouette, outlining the detail, and framing the eyelets. This frame also seamlessly meets with another tone of grey in a more reflective material. Finally, a third grey hue makes up the base or body of the sneaker and can be seen underneath the additional layers. The laces aren’t traditional, instead opting for thick elastic laces with a pull tab. Both the laces and the tongue underneath are a dark grey, providing the perfect touch of contrast for this crisp seasonal design!
