For the best part of half a decade the 350 V2 has been the main focus for Kanye’s Yeezy Adidas imprint, however it looks as though the silhouette’s days are numbered with the V3’s long-awaited arrival rumoured for March.
With the end possibly in sight for the silhouette that brought such a huge amount of success to the Yeezy project, what better way for Ye and his team to revolutionise the model and go out with a bang? Fittingly, the upcoming Yeezy Boost V2 “Ash Stone” attempts to do just that, with a new take on the classic style showing there’s life in the old dog yet.
After being teased as far back as October of last year, only now have official images surfaced, and they depict a deviation from the predominantly earthy tones of late, with a brand-new colour scheme the likes of which we haven’t seen on the time-tested silhouette before.
Although we see some brown and grey tones on the shoe’s Primeknit upper, they’re accompanied by a pronounced pink sidestripe, which delivers a welcome shot of colour and ensures the shoe commands that extra bit of attention.
Underfoot the tooling takes a slightly different form than we’re used to, with side walls painted in a darker shade that also features a hint of the pink found on the lateral. The midsole encases the full best of Boost technology found on every iteration in this collection, although the outsole again takes a slightly different form than we’re used to seeing. Contrasting treading rather than the customary translucent rubber usually found on the outsole completes a bold and daring look, putting the finishing touches on a worthy addition to the 350 V2 family.
As of yet, there’s still no official release date scheduled, although they’re expected to arrive some time in February. As ever, stay tuned and we’ll keep you in the loop as soon as more information is available.
