At long last, the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 is back! After more than 12 months without a new release and with the Yeezy team seemingly more concerned with adding updates to the newer V3 style, it had started to look as though Ye had all but abandoned this once-popular silhouette.

But now, as we approach the end of undoubtedly the most trying year in recent history, those kind souls over at Yeezy have given us something to smile about at last after they signalled their intentions to finally update the 700 V2 collection with a  shiny new release. It’ll drop early next year.

Following on from the recent trend of removing any religious references from their footwear, Yeezy have given this new colourway a neutral name and called it the “Cream” … pretty bland, we know, but it’s a small price to pay to keep people happy!

Elsewhere, the shoe’s aesthetic is pretty much what we’ve come to expect from the silhouette, with high-quality materials utilised to construct the eye-catching uppers and a fully-encased bed of adidas’ Boost technology below to ensure absolute comfort for those lucky enough to cop a pair.

The “Cream” colourway features neutral colour blocking, which is made up mostly of white, grey and (obviously) cream hues, which is bonded to a clean white midsole and dark, contrasting charcoal-coloured treading underneath. Yeezy have stuck to the blueprint, forgoing any major design upgrades and the result is a great trainer that’s comfortable, durable and looks the part.

This brand-new iteration is scheduled to arrive in early 2021 and the retail price is expected to be around £230 – the price you’d usually expect to pay for a 700 V3 colourway. If this new look does cost that much it’ll be significantly more than most of Yeezys recent releases, so it’ll be interesting to see whether that curbs some of the expected enthusiasm.

With some Yeezy styles struggling to gather as much hype of late, many have been left standing on the shelves days after they’ve first dropped, so whether or not the hefty price tag will put buyers off remains to be seen. To be on the safe side, though, if you’re deadest on nabbing a pair then make sure you’re ready when they land to avoid disappointment.
