Yeezy line to reach $1.5 Billion in sales in 2019
Confirmed this week via Forbes’ cover story was some very impressive Yeezy news. By the end of the year projections indicate that sales from Ye’s eponymous footwear line will exceed $1.5 billion. Although Kanye West still hasn’t quite “jumped over Jumpman” as he has previously chimed in songs like 2015’s ‘Facts’, It is more than evident the brand are going in the right direction. Jordan brands annual revenue is about $3 billion.
Considering the brand has been around since 1984. What Yeezy has been able to achieve since 2013 has been nothing short of amazing. His 100% ownership stake in Yeezy is what has enabled Kanye West to become a centimillionaire much faster than Michael Jordan was able to. With West looking in no way like he is slowing down. The production lines are constantly growing. Which makes it really look like Ye is finally realising his vision to make “Yeezys for everyone”.
Kanye West spotted wearing a potential Yeezy 350 v3
Meanwhile in Yeezy news, Kanye West was spotted in LA wearing what only could be described as an updated version of the Yeezy Boost 350. Rumours of a “v3” of the silhouette were initially sparked when an image was leaked on the internet in late 2018. The image,supposedly from Kanye West himself, contained sketches of some of his upcoming models. One of which being the Yeezy Boost 350 v3.
The largely Primeknit upper and rubber-encased Boost midsole shoes spotted on Kanye West’s feet, although very similar to the v1 and v2 Yeezy Boost 350, there are enough differences to suggest this could be the v3. The pattern on the upper is different. It appears that more symmetrical approach has been taken, which is evident when looking at the sneaker top-down (on the below photo). In addition, it also looks like the ankle collar has been modified slightly giving it a tighter, less exaggerated shape compared to previous models. Finally, the rubber midsole looks to rise higher around the heel almost mimicking the design of the Yeezy Quantum Basktetball which is touted for release sometime in the near future.
